International Baccalaureate at CCH

International Baccalaureate Mission Statement

The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.  To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.  These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

IB Department Mission Statement

The Catholic Central International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme aims to develop effective communicators and reflective, creative, collaborative, and holistic thinkers. We aim to support the student's journey to become discerning believers, responsible and lifelong learners. We further aim to provide a Catholic learning environment in the service of Christ, which promotes the spiritual, intellectual, cultural, emotional, and physical growth of each student in partnership with parents, the Church, and the global community.

Catholic Central High School

Catholic Central High School has been located in the heart of downtown London for over fifty years.  As the oldest Catholic Secondary School in London, we are an institute built upon traditions – traditions of excellence.

Our central location allows students from all across London and Elgin, Middlesex and Oxford Counties to take advantage of the enriching learning opportunities and academic challenges provided through many special programs such as English as a Second Language, Environmental Leadership and Music Extension.

Graduates of CCH have become influential leaders in business, industry, sciences and the religious and local communities.  CCH is known for its school spirit.  Whether it is a sporting event, a fundraising activity or helping others in need, CCH students have always joined together in support of a cause.  The Service Learning component of our curriculum and CCH extra-curricular activities allow students the opportunity to enhance their educational experience outside of the classroom.

Our school is also enriched by its ethnic flavor.  With more than thirty nationalities in its make-up, the CCH student body is a rich mixture of students and cultural influences from around the world.

Tradition, excellence, spirit, extra-curricular activities, community involvement and ethnic diversity all combine to make Catholic Central well suited to the goals of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
